On September 26, 2021, Team USA defeated Team Europe in the Ryder Cup by a score of 19-9, the most lopsided score in history. Played at Pete Dye’s Straits Course at Whistling Straits, Team USA led from Day 1 (6-2), continued its dominance on Day 2 (11-5), and trounced Team Europe in Day 3 singles to win 19-9. This Ryder Cup was originally scheduled to be held in 2020, but was rescheduled to September 2021 due to the COVID pandemic.

Led by Dustin Johnson (5-0), Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay (both 3-0-1), Team USA never let Team Europe into the match after the first session on Day 1. Only two players on Team Europe had winning records: Jon Rahm (3-1-1) and Sergio Garcia (3-1).

With the wind off of Lake Michigan gusting, Pete’s Straits Course was a monster during the tournament, with Hole #11 (the ‘Sand Box’) converted from a Par-5 to a 519 yard Par-4 hole.
