As the spring golf season approaches, the NCAA golf schedule for team tournaments is kicking off–with Pete Dye courses hosting a few big team events over the next two weeks!

Starting today, Georgia Southern University is hosting the inaugural ‘Invitational at the Ford‘, to be played at Pete Dye’s course at the Ford Field & River Club in Richmond Hill, GA. This men’s team tournament features Georgia Southern, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Utah, Wake Forest, and Wisconsin–all playing Pete’s 7,409 yard, par 72 gem located just south of Savannah.

And next week, Pete Dye’s course at the Long Cove Club is hosting the 12th annual Darius Rucker Intercollegiate – a major women’s college golf tourney hosted by the University of South Carolina. The field for the DRI contains many of the nation’s best women’s golf teams, including pre-season nationally ranked Wake Forest (#1), Arkansas (#4), South Carolina (#5), Texas (#7), Oregon (#8), LSU (#10), Northwestern (#14), Auburn (#15), and Duke (#16). Also in the field will be Alabama, Baylor, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Ohio State, and Vanderbilt. This highly competitive tournament will be played March 4-6, with 3 hours of live coverage by the Golf Channel each day.
Located on Hilton Head Island, the Long Cove Club’s course is a highly touted Pete and Alice Dye course which just so happened to also have a young Tom Doak working with them on his first construction project in the summer of 1981!
