On this date six year ago (6/3/2018), the La Reunion Golf Resort was destroyed by a massive eruption of nearby Volcano Fuego south of Antigua, Guatemala. Once the host of multiple PGA Latin American tour events, this Pete and Perry Dye course had to be evacuated due to intense ash and pyroclastic flows following the devastating eruption that killed 60 people and displaced thousands. Perry was quoted as lamenting, “It took me six years to build, and it was gone in a day”.
